Behunin Canyon

It's been several weeks since we last posted... Mike and I are staying busy this summer with mostly work, but we did manage to slip away for one short weekend. Here are photos from our canyoneering trip in Behunin Canyon in Zions National Park. It's approximately 10 miles round trip, 9 rappels of 80 to 165 feet, and couple of small murky pools to avoid.

Last rappel of the day... exhausted, but still had 2 miles of bouldering out of the canyon in the dark.

Honeymoon in Belize

For those who have not heard, we won a honeymoon sweepstakes from Brides Magazine! We spent seven nights and eight days at an all-inclusive luxury private island resort called Cayo Espanto. We were completely spoiled with massages, private snorkeling and diving trips, personal housemen, and the most amazing meals prepared by the island's chefs.

On our way to Cayo Espanto!

Our villa—complete with private beach, plunge pool (hot tub in the evenings), private dock, and gorgeous views.

Baby spotted stingray swimming around the villa.
Adams calling our personal housemen (Rick and Elio) on the walkie-talkie for nachos and shrimp cocktails.
This was our everyday on the private island...

Jen taking the sea kayak out for a paddle around the island...
Mike tows Jen's kayak back to shore.
Dinners on the island... A "ritual" we looked forward to everyday where the chef would stop by the villa in the afternoon and present to us the menu for the evening. Every meal was a gourmet feast!! Our favorites were the lime bisque soup, the coconut butterflied shrimp, grilled grouper with artichoke risotto, and the molten chocolate cake.

Boat ride to a private beach for an afternoon picnic.

Jungle river tour to Lamanai Mayan Temple.

Look very closely... you'll see eyes of a crocodile peeking above water.
The climb to the top of the temple.

A stop at the local artists' village of Bomba.

A stop in town of San Pedro.
